About the Role

Standard Bank is looking for a customer-focused and professional individual to join our branch team as Officer, Customer Liaison (Level 1). You will be the first point of contact for our clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service and guidance from the moment they walk in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and assist customers upon arrival

  • Identify customer needs through active listening and effective questioning

  • Direct clients to the right departments or specialists

  • Provide basic banking information and guidance on products/services

  • Handle and resolve simple customer queries independently

  • Record and track customer inquiries with accurate documentation

  • Maintain a clean, welcoming branch environment

  • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth branch operations

  • Stay updated on bank policies, procedures, and offerings

Minimum Qualifications

  • National Certificate (NQF5) or equivalent qualification

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2 years’ branch banking experience (customer service focus)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer proficiency, including banking systems

  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail

  • Customer-centric mindset, adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic knowledge of banking products and services (advantageous)

  • Fluency in English; other local languages are an advantage
