Requirements:
• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
• Metropolitan Police Officer Diploma
• 1- 2 years experience
• Minimum of a Code 8/B Driver’s License; and
• No criminal record. Primary
Function: Undertake the general maintenance of Law and Order in terms of powers conferred upon a police official by the South African Police Services Amendment Act and in particular the prevention of crime in terms of the powers conferred upon a Metro Police Official by the Criminal Procedure Act as well as other legislation (i.e. National Road and Transportation Act, Council By-Laws, etc.) and enhance the Joburg Ward Based Policing Program with external stakeholders.

• Perform activities by ensuring the safe and free flow of traffic on public roads as well as enforcement
• Perform specific activities, monitoring local area and act on situations/behavior deemed to be inappropriate or non-conforming to the law
• Performs crime prevention activities, monitoring any act deemed to be inappropriate/nonconforming to the law. Leading Competencies:
